Basin mixers & taps

A basin mixer is the tap on a bathroom wash basin: compact, often with a pop-up waste, sized for washing hands and face. A sink mixer is the kitchen tap: usually taller, with a high or swivelling spout so pots fit underneath, and sometimes a pull-out spray.

A standard (low) basin mixer suits basins set into or onto a vanity at normal height. Countertop or vessel basins sit higher, so they need a tall (XL) basin mixer or a wall-mounted mixer; otherwise the spout ends up below the basin rim.

Single-lever mixers set temperature and flow with one handle and are the most popular for modern bathrooms. Two-handle mixers suit traditional styles. Both come in chrome, matt black, brushed gold and gunmetal finishes.
